For those of you who play in Arvandor I have here a very simple rule list. Please feel free to ask any questions that you might need to about these and I will happily explain.
Civility:
Please, be civil to one another. In both times of peace and upset, civility in any issue will not only resolve a problem faster, but also with a much more pleasant outcome. I do not ask that you all like each other, such is an impossibility, but keeping the dislike of another person outside of anything In Character role play will makes the room a much more inviting area for all. If anything arises between two players, it is always best to handle it with grace and maturity, and if that can not be achieved then the Room Owner will be called in. The final decision on any action or issue will be put to a vote so that fairness and equality are ensured.
Maturity:
Arvandor is an "Open Scene" room. This means that at times there will be things posted in the room that are of a sexual nature. Being the fact that one must be 18 Years old or Older to be on this site, it is then safe to presume that everyone who would then be entering the room, is comfortable with things of an adult nature. However, if any Role Play Occurring is a 'Trigger' (ie- rape scene) then please alert either the role players in question or the room owner. We are an open room but we will never encourage emotional/mental upset.
Force Posting:
Force Posting is the act of taking the movements/thoughts/reactions/emotions of another players character and writing them out in your own reply. Such As: "He could see how he was making her quake in terror" when in fact, the character in question would have neither be afraid, nor showing any signs of it. Force Posting can also be taken in the area of a 'Force Post Kill' which is the most obvious sign of force posting, where a role player writes out the death of another role players character without their consent. In the Role Play World, Force Posting is the worst kind of insult that can be done between players, and will always result in an argument if not an out right fight between players. Any measure of force posting that is not allowed or appreciated by the other player will always result in actions taken by the Room Owner.
God Moding:
A term that is perhaps out dated, it is regardless, still one that fits. God Moding is the act of either creating or claiming a character is so powerful that nothing and no one can oppose it. This sort of character is often used to control or outright kill others simply because the character owner wishes to. This is, at it most base level, a bully. Such will not be tolerated. Powerful Characters are just fine, there are plenty of amazing species of being to be in role play, but always within the realm of reason and probability.
The one time where God Moding is allowed, is by the Room Owner, and ONLY under the express grounds that there is no other recourse of action. That means that it is only ever permissible to combat another God Moder.
Character Permission:
At the end of the day, it is the Room Owners express right to decide if a character can or can not, function in their room. A dinosaur does not belong in a fantasy realm where dragons and elves exist, for example, and trying to make such work is unfair to those who took the time and effort to create a character who does fit. Please, keep in mind the room's content and context when making a Character, do not simply barge in under any old codes and expect it to work. Insisting on such and demanding others work around you will result in discussions around the topic and if the issue still arises, said player will be asked to leave.
Those are the room rules, and though they are few and simple, I feel they are the best ones to ensure creativity and mutual respect for the act of creation. As such I trust every person reading these, as well as those who will be entering the room, will find these rules to be 'common sense'. We are all adults here, and as adults we should all inherently understand that respect is needed, both in the form of giving and receiving.
Thank You Very Much for taking the time to read through the rules and to apply them to ones self when entering, playing, or dealing with Arvandor in any way shape or form.
