Humanoid:
A humanoid is a type of creature shaped generally like a human, with two arms, two legs, one head, or a humanlike torso, arms and head. Humanoids are often roughly-human sized though some are enormous, such as titans, or miniscule like fairies. Most humanoids are capable of speech and have well-developed societies. Giant-kin and monstrous humanoids are two subsets of the humanoid body type.
Fiend:
A fiend is an evil creature from one of the Fiendish Planes. They are not just evil, but born of Evil; primal malevolence is one of the roots of their nature, and the evil essence of the fiendish planes permeates every part of their bodies.
The tanar'ri and the baatezu hold an eternal enmity for one another as they wage the Blood War.
Demons:
Main article: Demons
Demons are chaotic evil fiends, native to the Abyss. Tanar'ri are the dominant species of demon, but there are a number of others.
Devils:
Main article: Devils
Devils are lawful evil in alignment and hail from the Nine Hells of Baator. The baatezu are the dominant species.
Yugoloths:
Main article: Yugoloth
Also known as daemons. They are neutral evil in alignment and inhabit the Blood Rift.
Demodands:
Main article: Demodand
Also known as gehreleths, demodands are said to have been fashioned by one of the primal creations of Evil, exiled because of their chaotic taint. They currently dwell in the Supreme Throne.
Immortal:
Immortals are outsiders native to the Astral Sea and the many planes that lie within it whose essence is primarily composed from that same fundamental plane. In spite of their name, they are not the only beings capable of immortality, many elementals and even natural creatures also being capable of something along such lines. However, agelessness and the incapablity of dying a natural death is something that defines all immortals, which is not true of elemental, fey, natural, or shadow creatures. All immortals are immortal to this extent, though they are capable of being killed by more deliberate means and few immortals feel the need to eat or sleep either. The most powerful of all immortals are the gods, who are challenged only truly by the most powerful aberrations or the mighty primordials.

Construct:
Constructs are either animated objects or any type of artificially constructed creatures. Most constructs are non-intelligent automotons with neither a soul nor a purpose beyond the service of their creator. Because few constructs are truly alive, usually operated only by a "spark" of life, most constructs are immune to attacks that target the living. These "dead" constructs possess low-light vision and darkvision and are immune to mind-altering, poison, sleep, paralysis, stunning, disease-related, and death effects. Neither do these constructs require sleep or take part in any metabolic activities, such as eating or breathing.
Elemental Creature:
Elementals were outsiders who originated from the Inner Planes or, since the Spellplague, the Elemental Chaos. Nearly all had powers from the plane of air, land, fire and/or water.
Though elementals hailed from the elemental and energy planes, many were able to exist in other environments, sometimes easily. Frost giants, for example, were most at home in frigid environments, whether such environments were located in the Chaos or on the Prime.
The most powerful of the elementals were the mighty Primordials, who were not unlike gods in their power.

Shadow Creature:
A shadow creature is a being native to or composed of energy from the Plane of Shadow or, since the Spellplague, the Shadowfell. Such creatures often have necrotic abilities and many undead are shadow creatures, though living inhabitants of the Plane of Shadow and Shadowfell exist as well.
