Megil En' I' Ear-
Also known As Dragons Bay, the Nautilous Sea, or Cape of Fire. The Royal Family of Kuntho, Black Dragons of the Sea, have long held their seat in this area from time beyond memory. This city trades exclusively with Fey creatures. Only Fairies, Elves, Dwarfs, and Drow are permitted entrance. Humans are killed on sight.
Population: 102,862 (and counting)
Attractions: The land itself is rich and plentiful in both natural resources and beauty. Several deep mines produces tonnes of raw ore, as well as multiple being rich in precious, and semi precious stones. The land is fertile and the climate temperate even in winter, allowing for year round growth of multiple different crops, ensuring the self sufficiency of it's people. Because of the plentiful bounty of it's lands, this has allowed it's people to focus their attentions on greater schools of learning, elitist almost cult like classes where the complete and utter devotion of one's self to a craft is expected and demanded. Though the classes are known to be worse than many levels of hell for the sheer demands placed on the students, those who succeed are able to return to their lives with a profound, in depth knowledge of their field that many are regarded as Masters of their craft. These range from the simplest thread weavers up to maj-ii.
Mineral Deposits: Coal, Lead, Iron, Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Tungsten, Titanium, Mythril, Orichalcum, Starsilver and Moon Ore.
Main Trade: They do not export, they believe in trade, and trade only... They do not buy on promises of what they seek, they prefer to have their trade on a one on one basis, where the goods are looked over thoroughly in person. They are generous with their resources for those who trade well and bring something of particular interest to them.
Main Imports: Knowledge. It does not matter in what form or from where, so long as it is something they do not already know, some rare book or advanced information is often good enough trade to leave the bearer of such a thing quite fat in the pockets... Though those who seek to dupe or lie to the traders have often found themselves killed for lying.
Climate: They have their four seasons, Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Though unlike in many other places, their climate is always comfortable, allowing for perfect growing conditions year round. Spring is cool but comfortable, plenty of cherry trees begin to bloom as well as strawberries, and many trees begin to put out their blossoms for leaves. The summer is warm and sweet with crisp breezes off of the sea to keep everyone from getting too hot, the smell of out door cooking and thousands of flowers are an every day occurrence in the warm months. Fall is a world of flame and harvest, the weather is just cool enough to make working in the fields comfortable, but not so cold as to make one wish to remain in doors. The winter does not see multiple weeks of snow, but a simple month of it, just enough to reset the earth for the plow... The lands are kept in prime condition and allowed to rest for a year between as they move from field to field, fertilizing and nourishing each one in turn, ensuring that nature is never taken advantage of but lived in harmony with.
General: The people of Megil work as had as they play, and they devote their lives in the perfection and completion of what ever they set their hearts to, regardless of what ever that may be. From Sailors to Stylists everyone plies their craft, and does so perfectly, each individual adding their own unique flavor to the world around them.
They are known for producing not only exemplary wares that one can see on every street corner, but also for their warriors who know no pain, nor fear on the battle field. Warring countries often come to have their soldiers trained by those fierce warriors who call Megil home, and those who have not the time, pay the golden price for those who might wish to see lands outside of their own and forge a name for themselves in blood. It has become well known that for every man who has a warrior of Megil En' I' Ear is sure to succeed in battle, making them some of the most sought out warriors and training in the known worlds, so much so that price is never an issue when one goes to seek the best.
Currently, the King has been gone for some years, and his only child is currently across the Rift seeking a bride. It has been long tradition that the Kings must marry a woman from well outside their territories, ensuring that the blood lines remain strong, breeding out things like illness and frailty with fresh blood stock every generation. Though it is often preferred that the King take a Dragoness, it is acceptable to take an Elf, though any other race is often cause for massive disputes in the land.
It is expect within the next Decade that their Prince shall come to claim the Throne once more, bride in tow and preferably pregnant, or at least with a child or two to show her ability to produce heirs. One thing that has never been an issue in Megil are virgins... It is not, nor has it ever been required for such a state of being to be needed for marriage, as it is just a piece of skin in the long run. They prefer women who perhaps have had a child or two so that the King or Prince might see what condition the offspring are and whether or not they are healthy. Of course, upon marriage the former children are returned to their father and the woman is then taken to the castle, though on rare occasions a King has kept on the children of a Wife under certain circumstances.
