Sometimes you think you can get away with a lot of shit, sometimes you honestly do… And sometimes you can’t. Sometimes all the crap you throw out in the world, all the negativity, all the pain, all the sorrow, once in a blue moon do come back on you. There had been a lot of cruelty thrown about recently, a lot of truly evil things spread through this place and it all started at the hands of just one person. People will do a lot of…strange things for love. Sometimes it brings out the best in us, makes us put others before ourselves and just a better person in general. Sometimes it brings out the worst, and sadly the worst in someone, is some pretty bad shit…
*There were factors still in play he was not the keenest on allowing to continue on as they were, despite his original ideal that he was going to step away and let things fall as they would. After all, who wants to spend their life cleaning up peoples messes and taking care of their problems? Did you see a set of wings on his back? A magic want in his hand? No. No you don’t, because he isn’t some eternally happy fairy tale god mother who grants wishes to good little boys and girls. He had his own life to see to, and yet it always seemed that some jackass was dragging him down to clean up a mess he had no part in. You would think that with his attitude and his personal skills he would just ignore it, after all, much of it was not effecting his life as it stood. Then again, when he was a younger man he had learned the hard way that shit you ignore, tends to get backed up on you and then it’s just the biggest mess you can possibly imagine. Some habits are force formed and tend to be a lot harder to break, making it almost impossible for him to forego the mess that was bubbling like a pot left too long on the stove. He had handled everything with Sydel as best as he was able, and still a part of that just bit at him, ripped into him. He hadn’t liked leaving her alone there, but she loved Chris and he wasn’t going to be her second fiddle any more. Too many damn years being in that position and after a while, you just have to give up on things. Did that mean he didn’t love her? No. He would always see Sydel as his first love, he would always love her, always be her husband. He just… wasn’t going to wait around for her to decide just what to do with herself. Chris had broken her, and if he were a bigger asshole, he might had swooped in and used that to his advantage but he wouldn’t. Chris made the mess with her, and she with him, which was up to them to sort out. His only part in that bit was the fact that Griphin was loose and hiding out and he couldn’t find him, someone was hiding him and doing a damn fine job of it too. He could practically feel the stinking, slimy mass of spells all over town that belong to his son, which pissed him off to no end. Dravanos was supposed to be in Naggoth, in the Chaos realms, and for some reason he wasn’t. Either Khorn was negating on his bargain which he rather doubted, or Dravanos was pulling a fast one on them all… Knowing his son, it was most likely the latter. Fact of the matter was he was tired unto insanity with this son of his, seeing his fingers in every single Gods damned mess he had to clean up before he truly got settled in. It was why he was going to be bringing in Ace for this…particular little venture. The guy had as much reason to want to kill Dravanos as he did, albeit for different reasons. Plus he had rather promised him the parting shot as it were, and that just worked out all the better for him really. Truth of the matter was that he wasn’t going to be able to get in that last parting shot, he couldn’t take the final blow. He had already seen his son die once, and our of all his children before Aysil, Dravanos was the only one he had actually cared about. What he could do… was level the playing field with him an make it so that those he had pissed off, could get a fair game of it. He would lock away the Primordial part of his son, and only leave that which he had gotten from his mother… He just had to find him first. There were too many lines, way too much magic that had been spread over the place to make tracking him an easy thing. Normally he would have had Sydel beside him, and she was a skilled little tracker, she rarely missed her mark and he had always been proud of her skills in such areas. She was in no place to help anyone really, and the best thing he could do for her right now, was leave her alone and let her sort her own life out. So, that left him with bringing Ace into the game a bit early. Why was that? Because right now, it was rather needed for Ace to be brought in. He could limit Dravano’s powers, strip his Primordial soul and abilities, but he could not kill him. He also was in the position that he was unable to find him, only that he knew he was somewhere in this town, hiding out, biding his time for who knew what. He couldn’t imagine what other hell that little bastard could cause, or how many more lives he could destroy. As it was, he had already destroyed multiple lives, multiple chances of a better ending than what it had started out as. Now, normally, he wouldn’t give a fuck about people’s lives, but these ones were rather important to him. First one was Sydel, and the damage he had caused her was a load of shit. Second was Ace and that little girl he was with who seemed to of have vanished off to nowhere. Then there was the fact that he lost his son and grandson all in one go to get Sydel out of the mess that Dravanos had drug them all down into. The level of fucked up that all this boiled down to was probably one of the worst he had seen so far, and that was saying something, all things considered. There was no rush just yet though… There had to be time to plan, to strike when the iron was hot, so to speak. Rather than go find Ace and talk to him about this, he wrote a letter instead, asking him to meet up somewhere that they both knew.
