During the Great Fall of Llolth, she and her people were banished from the realm of Arvandor down into the Under World, forever cursed to reside in Menzoberranzan. Many houses and peoples died during the banishment and because of that, out of the many houses that had once spread across Arvandor, only those listed below survived the Fall.
The Most Powerful Houses Create the Council and Govern over the Smaller Noble and Non-Noble houses:

House Barrison Del'Armgo
House Faen Tlabbar
House Xorlarrin

House Duskryn
The Lesser Noble Houses, Still Powerful and Not to be Underestimated:
House Baenre
House Barrison Del'Armgo
House Faen Tlabbar
House Mizzrym
House Fey-Branche
House Melarn

House Horlbar: Twelfth House in 1358 DR. Formed House Melarn together with House Kenafin [Produced only Sons, no longer a Matron Ruled house]

House Millithor
House Hekar
House Maivert
House Nurbonnis
House Zolond
House Despana
House Pharn
House Coloara
House Takandoys
House Ousstyl
While these houses are not the ones our story and territory pertain to, it is important that one know just how many houses there are, for like in a game of chess? Each house is constantly moving against the others, ever eager to move up the Drow Ladder of power, and because of that?
No house is ever truly safe.
This… Is Where the Story Begins…
Matron Akorlochar Navere had been the first to rally to her Goddess Llolth and lost many of her own house in the fierce battle that had come from the banishment, her faith never wavering as they were exiled into the under dark, her family and her slaves were ever loyal and faithful to the Spider Queen. Llolth looked down at this and bestowed great favor to the Matron and her House, granting her the gift of becoming an Aranea, the first of her kind and granted with immortality… Because of this gift Akorlochar became the largest of her species, the true Queen of the Web, and upon her massive back there settled her family. Daughters and sons and the slaves of their house which began to slowly cultivate the large expanse of flesh, her blood ran like water to nourish her children and help them grow crops, her flesh nurtured the plants and animals which filled the stomach of her daughters. As time went on her family began to forgot the back upon which they existed, her name forever honored but her form lost to the eons of time, simply living with respect and reverence upon the back of the Great Aranea.
The Great Matron Aranea Akorlochar Navere
Sadly, as all things happen with time, memories became blurred and history forgotten… Stored only in books that people have long since forgone picking up in preference of the pursuit of new and exciting things. Slowly as the centuries passed the Great House Navere began to slip and slide in a slow, downward spiral as their family became smaller, more singular in both behavior and association. Their lands, envied and desired by others were constantly at risk by poachers and those who sought to take it for themselves, causing increased war activities among the many great and small houses. As war waged more history became forgotten, the start of the Great House Navere had become lost, long past recollection by the nobles and slaves alike. Because of this the favor shown the house slowly began to be lessened, the Great Aranae becoming embittered, enraged at the slovenly nature of her family. As decades turned into centuries House Navere began to slide farther and farther down in power and status, the great estates and castles abandoned atop the Great Aranae in favor of smaller, more easily defensible locations.
Separated in the last century from the Great Aranae, House Navere had taken it’s last, final fall from grace as the houses of both Gia Navere and Chaka Navere fell. The last surviving heirs, Gia Navere and her daughter, Anya Nevere; are now seeking out their ancestral lands, determined to bring back the golden age of their House. Gia Navere, with her husbands Nautilous Navere and Thaylan Navere, are currently on the quest to relocate the Great Aranae and reunite with their most Revered and Ancient Ancestor. All will not be as it seems though, for through many years of neglect and dishonor, the Great Aranae has become angered and rageful. There are many quests and rituals that must be performed successfully before the Great Aranae and the city of Achkinnal Falls is reclaimed once more…
